When you hire a dog walker a few things that will determine the final price are: how many walks you want, how long you want your walks to be, and who your dog walker is. Toby's Pet Care offers private dog walking, meaning your dogs will only be walked by themselves and not in a group. This provides a safer walking experience and they receive more personal attention. My company is also bonded and insured, so you can feel safe your dogs are in the hands of a reliable and trustworthy company.

Dog walking is a great way to keep your dogs exercised, have them be mentally stimulated (by seeing/sniffing new things and getting them out of the house) and helping them with boredom. We all know a bored dog may cause trouble! With today's busy schedules however, it's easier said than done.

My clients are oftentimes busy people who would LOVE to walk their dogs, but they just dont have enough time. That's why hiring a dog walker can be just what you and your dog need. I often get asked the question, how much does a dog walker cost? So I thought I'd write a blog post to go over all the details regarding this service.

Dog walking starts at $25 for one or two dogs. Because of safety concerns, I don't generally walk more than two dogs at a time. There is an exception, however. If you have a smaller breed like a Chihuahua, I don't mind walking up to four of them at a time (from the same household.) For each additional dog after the first two, the price is $2 but, this only applies to small breeds and only up to four. You can be certain there would be a huge difference between walking four Chihuahuas vs. walking four big dogs! Again, I only do this for the safety of your dogs and myself.

Each visit is left with a special note from me via a paper note or text message.

So where are your dogs walked when I take them out for a stroll? If you have a preferred path in your neighborhood, I will use it. Otherwise, your dogs are walked around the close vicinity of your house. If you live near a dog park, they can also be walked there. If more than a 5 minute drive is required to visit the park, I recommend opting for a longer walk, as the driving can cut into our walking time.

How long are the dog walks? My walks last anywhere between 30 and 60 minutes. It just depends on how active your dog is or how long they stay inside while you're at work or gone for the day. The standard rate is $25 for a 30 minute walk, or $30 for 45 minutes, and $35 for a high powered full 60 minute walk.

What happens if it rains the day of my scheduled walk? Since we need the rain so desperately here in the Valley, we shouldn't see it as a bad thing! If it happens to be raining the day of your scheduled walk however, your pooch and I still have a lot of options. If the rain is only forecast for a portion of the day, we can reschedule the walk at a later time in the day. If your dog isn't bothered by a little light rain, we can go ahead and do our walk and then he'll be dried off on our way in, or we could make it a short walk for them to go potty and use up the rest of the time for indoor playtime.

Rain or shine, we'll have a great time!
